Ïkori is my last creature, he is a little spirit who lives into the pine forests.

It´s made of needle felted and polymer clay painted with acrylic paint,

I also used a little pinecone and two pine leaves to make the horns.

Here is some creepy emotional work,

the concept came to me when I was feeling really depressed.

I´m still experimenting with technique, in this one I´ve used pencils and ball pen for drawing, ink and watercolor to create a background texture, and photoshop for the final art using a Wacom Intuos 4.

I´m happy with the result and hope you guys like it :)

After some time trying different techniques, I think finally I´ve found one that I really like and enjoy working with. I´ve mixed traditional and digital media, making a pencil drawing and some textures with acrylic for the hair, scanning diferent paper textures and coloring and designing in Photoshop CS3 with a Wacom Intuos 4.

Lately I've been looking for a new digital technique that looks more organic, so I´ve tried a mixed between traditional pencil technique and digital technique.

My dear Felideus taught me about his technique and I mixed some of his great advices with some of my own findings.

This is just an experiment I did with a pencil sketch but I´ll do a finished black and white pencil drawing in the next work, before start the digital stage.

I´m very happy with the result and I´ve enjoyed a lot working on this one,

My little fella is totally finished :D

Painting it was sooo difficult to me!, but I'm quite happy with the result

and I've learned a lot doing it.

I've used acrylics, pastels and glossy varnish on the eyes, lips,

ears and a little on the leaves of his head.

Hi everybody,

lately, I´ve been watching several tutorials of how modeling, specially ball jointed dolls, I really love them.

Making a BJD looks too complicated for the first try so I decided start with something easier. I started modeling a simple head using Super Sculpey, I was enjoying so much so I decided to make the body too and add some special details like the leaves on the head and the hornes made with two dried pine leaves.

This is the final model but I have to paint it now, wish me luck!

"Nobody remember who sculpted the huge face in the rock, the leyend says that she is older than the human race, that she is a goddess, a spirit of nature.

I´ve tried to do an environment on this one, playing more with values, lighting and atmosphere. I hope you like it guys :)

Hi guys,
I´m going to explain how I did my last work step by step, I´ve post the main references that I used, some interesting links that may help you and a custom brush by myself. My apologies for my poor english, I´m still studying to improve it :)

Well, at first at all I had the idea of a soul-liberating character and I was thinking about this concept until the image is formed in my head, then I made a little and fast rough sketch, I looked for documentation in Internet and I saw a lot of images of Venetian Carnival masks, birds (live and dead), skull´s birds, North American Indians and some Inuit women, after that, my imagination started work at full speed. I took a photo of myself to reference of the pose, especially of the hands. When I had all things that I needed, I started working in photoshop.

Here are the main references that I used:

In my two last works I did a brushstrokes background and I added a texture before start to work on the character. I used a custom brush by myself that looks like an acrylic brushstroke and a texture of a special paper, I put two layers of texture in "linear burn" mode with diferent opacity and erased some parts to achive a good effect. You can download my brush here

I usually don´t used the pencil sketch in my digital work, only use it as a fast way to put my ideas on paper and then I sketching again digitaly but at this time I scaned it and used it as reference because I liked the proportions and some shapes on it, anyway, I did a lot of changes in the process of color sketching and painting.

After doing a basic background I started to paint the character, I did a basic color scheme at first, then I started to working in the volume. I used the same brush to paint the feathers and others details but the skin and the bird skull was done with a custom brush by Charlie Bowater, you can find this brush in her deviant journal clicking here.

To design the little bird souls I used as reference a sketch that I did some years ago in which some birds flying away from a head, I like those birds very much. I used some layer effects to create the sense of moving and added some splash with a custom brush by Yang Xueguo called "snow", you can download his "good brush set" here.

Here is my old sketch that I used as reference to design the birds:

When I finished the birds I worked on the final details on the background, dress and hair, again I used a custom brush by Yang Xueguo to make the dark leaves on the background.

To finish the illustration definitely I did some color settings and made a frame with rounded edges.

This is probably the most complicated work that I´ve ever done, I spend ages on it because I´ve gone crazy with the details and volume, but I´ve learned a lot painting it and I really proud of the result. Hi everyone,

I´ve decided to show you some steps of the piece I´m painting now. I´m working in a spirit of the flowers, a beautiful creature with moth wings, petals in her face like a venetian mask and a lot of diferent flowers in her head.

At first I did a rough sketch and a lot of annotations to put in paper the general idea (picture 1), then I needed some references before start the final line sketch. I had a lot of fun looking for documentation, I discovered many awesome and huge moths with very beautiful wings and wonderful colors, they really amazed me. Also I was looking for some pictures of Ikebana and other floral arts and I found a lot of beautiful examples that inspired me a lot.

When I had all the documentation necesary I did the final line sketch (picture 2), after that I sketched the lighting (picture 3) and the color (picture 4), in this last step I fixed some drawing mistakes and some things to do the composition works better.

I want to achieve a beautiful atmosphere, a lot of details and play a lot with the colors on this one. I hope to finish this piece in a few days.

Here is another spirit of the nature, the wind spirit. I´ve taken my time to paint this one and I´ve learned a lot doing it, I´m quite satisfied with the result.

It´s completely done in photoshop CS3 with a wacom Intuos 3.

All nights the Moon materializes in a creature who wanders through the woods.

On the full moon nights, the creature sits on the highest rocks, in the moonlight, and its coat shine like silver.

This is another creature from my imagination and my first paint without drawing line. Completly done in Photoshop CS3 with a Wacom Intuos 3, I´ve used a custom brush* in the texture of the stones and the moss. I hope you like it :)

Todas las noches la Luna se materializa en una criatura que vaga por los bosques. En las noches de luna llena, la criatura se sienta en las rocas más altas, a la luz de la luna, y su pelaje brilla como la plata.

this is my latest personal work. I´m creating my own universe with many characters and places, this universe is set in the Middle ages and it has a lot of magical characters. The creature of the image is "Fauna", one of the Nature´s daughters, she can transform her body in any animal shape (real or magical).
Completely done in photoshop with a Wacom Intuos3, I´ve used some custom brushes and a paper texture.

Hello everybody!
This is a concept from my new comic project. The princess is the main character of the story and the strange beast is Fauna (the godess of animals) she can tranform her body in any animal shape (real or magical).
Done in photoshop, I hope you like it :)

Aquí podéis ver un "concept" realizado para mi nuevo proyecto de cómic. La princesa es el personaje principal y la extraña criatura es Fauna (diosa de los animales), ella puede transformar su cuerpo en cualquier forma animal (ya sea real o mágica). Realizado en photoshop, espero que os guste :)

Welcome!

As you can watch I´ve changed the design of the blog, it is cleaner than the old one. I´m using the same design in the website and I promise that it will be ready during this week. Felideus has helped me designing the blog and the website, for this reason it´s so beautiful ;)
I´ve deleted all the post but don´t worry I´ll post the best ones in the coming days and, of course, new works.
I hope you´ll enjoy this new blog :)

My english isn´t very good, sorry if I make mistakes.

Como podéis observar he cambiado el diseño del blog, éste es mucho más limpio. Estoy usando el mismo diseño para la web, estará lista a lo largo de la semana ¡lo prometo!. Felideus me ha ayudado con el diseño del blog y de la web, por eso ha quedado tan bonito ;)
He eliminado todos los post pero no os preocupeis que en los próximos días iré subiendo los mejores, además de nuevos trabajos.
